Space Shuttle Crew Wakes To Keith Urban Hit ‘Days Go By’ [Video]

The Keith Urban song “Days Go By” was used to wake up the crew of Atlantis Sunday night according to the NASA twitter.  The song will be the last song played to wake a space shuttle crew for work on the International Space Station.  The crew will undock Atlantis from the space station tomorrow to prepare for their return home to Earth.   Touch down for the final mission is expected on Thursday at Kennedy Space Center. 

I don’t think kids today will ever understand the excitement felt by Americans when the space shuttle missions began.  Yes there have been some hardships and loss along with the successful missions, but looking back I remember gathering with my elementary schools classmates to watch the space shuttle launch and touch town.   It was such an exciting time.   Here’s to a safe return to the final crew this week.
