Former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed a lawsuit against Spectrum Management Holding Company, its parent company Charter Communications, Inc. and the previous cable provider, Time Warner Cable, accusing those companies of fraud and deceptive advertising two years ago.

Charter Spectrum settled the lawsuit without admitting they did anything illegal, but agreed to shell out $174 million, including $62.5 million worth of refunds, which the Attorney General's office said amounted to the largest consumer payout by an Internet Service Provider in U.S. history", according to WIVB.
