Mad Starbucks Workers Forced to Wear This in New York State
Starbucks is starting to force their workers to wear something more specific while they work and there are tons of workers who are not happy and even are threatening not to work anymore because of it.
On Monday, Starbucks made it a mandate for workers to wear a black shirt underneath the green apron that Starbucks baristas are known to wear. The black shirts were provided from Starbucks and everyone was given 2 shirts. Now, there are some employees who think it is ridiculous and do not want to wear the shirt underneath the apron and have decided not to come to work.
This is not something new. Workers seem to try to get away with more and more.
We have one friend who owns a pizzeria and if you ever went in there you would see every single person working there have air pods in and listening to music. You may think it is ridiculous--but, according to the guy who owns the pizza place, if you told them that they cannot have the head phones in, they would not work and it is not easy to find people to work right now.
But some workers protested the move. Starbucks Workers United, a labor group that has unionized workers at more than 550 of Starbucks’ 10,000 company-owned U.S. stores, said it told the company last week that it has already negotiated a tentative dress code agreement during bargaining sessions with the company", according APnews.com.
So, if your coffee takes a little longer than usual this week, it might just be because workers are on strike and do not want to wear a Starbucks shirt.
