The STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign is designed to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving and distracted driving.
Extra police will be out on the roads through Monday, September 1st. They will be on the lookout for speeders, distracted drivers, and people who don't follow the "Move Over" law.
The "Move Over" law requires drivers, if they can safely, move to the opposite lane of a disabled vehicle and or person on the shoulder of the road
So far this year, police have issued over 112,000 tickets for various vehicle and traffic law violations during the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign
