Sugarland Set to Return to Indiana for Free Show Following Deadly Stage Collapse
The last time they scheduled a show in Indiana, Sugarland made headlines for all the wrong reasons, suffering a horrific stage collapse that claimed the lives of seven concertgoers and injured more than 40 others.
At the time, they promised they’d be back to perform a free show — and now they’re making good on that promise by adding a new show.
The band broke the news via Twitter, telling followers, “We will return to Indiana for a free concert at Conseco Fieldhouse on Oct. 28th.”
Fans who held tickets for the disastrous August 13 show will get first dibs on seats for the October 28 performance, via a first-come first-serve “presale” running from October 10-14. Following that, Ticketmaster will distribute the rest of the tickets, free of charge; the only caveat appears to be a four-ticket limit per household.
Fittingly, the October 28 show will serve as the final stop on Sugarland’s Incredible Machine Tour, wrapping up a tragedy-stricken string of dates by offering a triumphant tribute to the band’s fans, the lives affected on August 13, and the enduring power of music.
