If you believe that things get crazy in your neck of the woods everytime there's a full moon, just wait until tonight! Not only will the moon be full, but it will be "Super" too.

Of course I don't mean that the moon will have abnormal strength, speed, or invulnerability.  But it will be able to fly (it would be a bad thing if it stopped doing that) and it will appear to be much bigger than usual.  The reason being that it will be getting a lot closer to the earth tonight.  The average distance from the earth to the moon is around 238,000 miles.  On March 19, 2011, it will be about 17,000 miles closer!

Not only will it appear bigger, but it should appear brighter too.  How much bigger and brighter?  It should appear 14% bigger and 30 percent brighter!  According to Yahoo News it will look the largest early in the evening.

If you get pictures of the "Super Moon,"  we would love to see them.  Send them to us!  You can send them to me at brettalan@wyrk.com.
