Despite how busy it's been on the business side with roster transactions with the Buffalo Sabres over the next week, there was some awesome off-the-ice news for one of the Sabres best players.

According to the Sabres, forward Tage Thompson and his wife Rachel welcomed their baby boy, Brooks into the world!

Thompson came to Buffalo from St. Louis in 2018 as part of the Ryan O'Reilly trade. After a couple of growing pain seasons, Thompson had a breakout year in 2021-2022 that saw him score 38 goals and 68 points in 78 games.

Thompson is now a top-line player for Buffalo and is only 24 years old. He will factor into the Sabres long-term plans with the likes of Dylan Cozens, Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, JJ Peterka and Jack Quinn -- not even counting who the Sabres take in the first round tonight.

It's really cool to see Thompson flourish as a player in Buffalo and that he and his family are now part of the Western New York community.
