You've got the extra-long twin sheets, hot plate, mini-fridge, laptop, no fewer than 30 various device chargers and cords, and a million kisses goodbye -- you've got your kiddo all set for college.

Or do you?

One thing most parents forget (the kids too -- especially if your student has recently turned 18) is to get your daughter or son registered to vote via absentee ballot.

Here is the link to the application for a New York State absentee ballot. Click the link to print out the ballot.

You still have time to get your student who's geographically off to college, registered for this November's elections.

According to the New York State Board of Elections, "This application must either be personally delivered to your county board of elections not later than the day before the election, or postmarked by a governmental postal service not later than 7th day before election day; The ballot itself must either be personally delivered to the board of elections no later than the close of polls on election day, or postmarked by a governmental postal service not later than the day before the election and received no later than the 7th day after the election."
