Things To Remember For Opening Day Of Deer Season
Opening day of the regular big game season starts at sunrise on Saturday in Western New York.
The weather looks pretty decent compared to some of the rain we have had in other years for opening day. Going out? Here are a few things to remember to keep you safe. Have a great hunt!
- Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction
- Know your target AND WHAT"S BEYOND
- Wear your orange and be visible to other hunters
- Hunt only on land you have permission to hunt
- Obey DEC and state hunting laws and regulations
- Use extra caution when climbing in and out of a treestand
- Wear a safety belt or harness in the treestand
- Carry your licence with you at all times
- Have your back-tag properly displayed
- Dress warmly...it will be cold and snowy on Saturday
