One of the biggest shows of the summer will feature country superstar Tim McGraw performing at the Darien Lake Amphitheater on August 1. It is shaping up to be one of the must-see concerts of the season in Western New York.

Tim McGraw is certainly no stranger to Buffalo or the Western New York concert scene. Over the years, he has built quite a history with local country music fans.

Tim McGraw Has A Long History With Buffalo

Some fans may remember the altercation involving Tim McGraw and Erie County sheriff’s deputies during the George Strait Country Music Festival in Orchard Park years ago. However, McGraw has returned to Western New York many times since then and has delivered some unforgettable performances.

One of the most memorable appearances came during the WYRK Taste of Country concert in downtown Buffalo. Tim absolutely crushed that show, and fans walked away with incredible memories from one of the biggest country music events the city has seen.

Strong Ties To Western New York

Now, Tim McGraw is heading back to Western New York once again this summer. Beyond his concerts in the area, McGraw also has personal connections to Buffalo.

The country music legend has been longtime friends with former Buffalo Bills' quarterback, Jim Kelly. The two have shared a friendship for years, and Kelly has even hunted on McGraw’s property on occasion.

According to McGraw, "I've always had a great time whenever we play Buffalo. Great fans! They always show up for us in a big way"!

New Music And A Hall Of Fame Honor

In addition to his upcoming concert at Darien Lake, Tim McGraw also revealed that new music is expected to arrive this fall.

It was recently announced that Tim McGraw will officially be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, joining some of the biggest legends in country music history.

A Patriotic New Song Coming This Fall

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary this summer, Tim shared that his upcoming album will include a new patriotic song focused on being an American through both the triumphs and tragedies of the past 250 years.

"Song for America" is coming soon and McGraw will be performing it live at CMA Fest this summer. Tim told me that, "It's such a great song. I fell in love with it right away. It's so nostalgic and would've been a great song to put out at anytime but with the 250 anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the attacks on 9-11, I think it makes it particularly poignant".
