As we deal with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl, we're seeing some extreme weather here in Western New York.

Hurricane Beryl has proven to be a beast of a hurricane.  Days after it made its way through the Gulf of Mexico, we are still feeling the after-effects. We have tornado warnings here in Buffalo right now.

The National Weather Service has issued the warning:

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...

Central Chautauqua County in western New York...

* Until 1215 PM EDT.

* At 1148 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a

tornado was located near Mayville, or 12 miles southwest of

Fredonia, moving northeast at 45 mph.


SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without

shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree

damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...

Dunkirk, Fredonia, Mayville, Long Point State Park, SUNY Fredonia,

Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, Sheridan, Stockton, and


This includes Interstate 90 near exit 59.


TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

and protect yourself from flying debris.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
