Traffic is Enormous Nightmare Getting to New York State High Schools in Storm
Traffic is a nightmare this morning in Western New York due to the winter storm that is currently happening. There were portions of the New York State Thruway that were at a standstill for nearly 50 minutes on Thursday morning.
The traffic to get to one of the high schools in Williamsville was a nightmare.
What can we expect in the future?
The good news is that this weather is going to take a break by this weekend. In fact, by Monday morning the weather will be full of RAIN and mid 40 temperatures for the first half of the week.
But, as for today, Nittec, who is in charge of all of New York State's cameras on the major routes, posted about the Winter Weather Advisory:
"For: Niagara; Orleans; Northern Erie; Genesee
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph, producing considerable blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Northern Erie, and Genesee Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commutes today. Gusty winds may down tree branches and cause isolated power outages."
