Travis Tritt has always been one of my favorites. I was a little shocked, however, to find out that he will be performing the National Anthem prior to tonight's Men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

Tritt is a Georgia native. I guess that is really the only connection and reason why, since it is being played in Atlanta. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that he will do a professional and fantastic job. I just think perhaps a better fit, if we are talking country singers from Georgia, could have been Jason Aldean or Luke Bryan. Someone a bit more relevant to today's audience. Especially at a college basketball game that the nation will be watching.

The Zac Brown Band may have been a good choice as well. But they have sang the anthem at just about every other event recently. I have a feeling the first thing that will run through people's minds tonight will be "Who is this?"

Like I said, I am fan of Tritt's music and have even met him on a few occasions. I bet he will no doubt deliver a performance we country fans will be proud of. This won't be his first time doing the honors with the Anthem..
