Will Former Bills Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds Come Back To The Buffalo Bills?

It's not unheard of for the Buffalo Bills to bring players back who have gone on to play for other teams. It's actually been happening a lot in Buffalo lately. They've brought back players like Tre'Davious White, Gabe Davis, Jordan Phillips, and Jordan Poyer. So could linebacker Tremaine Edmunds be one of the next to return to the team?

The Chicago Bears are allowing Tremaine Edmunds to seek a trade

The Bears have announced that they're allowing Tremaine Edmunds the opportunity to seek out a trade somewhere else.

Edmunds has been a Pro Bowl-caliber player throughout much of his career. He is under contract through the 2026 season with the Bears and will be owed $15 million.

Even though he was injured this season, he still came back strong before the end of the year and led the Bears in tackles.

Edmunds was a Buffalo Bill first

Many Bills fans will remember that Edmunds started his career in Buffalo. He was chosen in the same year, and same round as Josh Allen. While Josh went 7th overall, Edmunds was chosen soon after that at 16th. He played here for five seasons through 2022. As much as they hated to see him go, they couldn't afford to pay him what he was going to make somewhere else, so he went and got paid in Chicago.

Will Edmunds come back to Buffalo?

If you're hoping for Edmunds to come back to Buffalo, I wouldn't get too excited quite yet. While the front office knows and seems to love him, it still might be a tough task to pay him. He's due a salary of $15 million, and with a lot of holes on the Bills' defense, it's going to be hard to pay. As it is right now, they're probably going to let long time veterand Matt Milano go to get paid somewhere else. They paid Shaq Thompson a minimum salary last year, and he's already said he won't be coming back for peanuts again. So, the biggest issue again with getting Edmunds on this team will be his paycheck.
