The incredible season of Martin Truex, Jr. continued on Sunday in NASCAR's playoff opener at Chicagoland Speedway.  Truex won the race by a margin of more than seven seconds, but he had to overcome a speeding penalty and a return to pit road because of loose lug nuts.  He had the speed in his car to battle back.

It's the fifth win of the season for Truex, his second straight at Chicagoland and the 12th of his career.  The victory also earns him an automatic spot in the Round of 8.

Chase Elliott came in second with Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson completing the Top 5.  Brad Keselowski came in 6th giving Playoff drivers the Top 6 positions.

Polesitter Kyle Busch won the first stage but early in the second stage had to return to the pits to fix a loose wheel, then he was penalized because one of his pit crew left the wall early.  He had to serve a pass-thru penalty and never got back on the lead lap.  He finished 15th.
