The Buffalo Bills are just one week into the regular season, and while the team is preparing to take on the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida, the big news right now is off the field, and it has to do with a new vaccine mandate.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Pegula Sports and Entertainment announced on Tuesday afternoon that fans attending Bills and Sabres games at Highmark Stadium and KeyBank Center will need to be vaccinated.

This also goes for any event happening at either venue.

All fans ages 12 and over must have at least one vaccine dose starting on September 25th and going until October 31st. After that, all fans must have their vaccine doses completed -- either two vaccine doses of Pfizer or Moderna, or one Johnson & Johnson vaccine dose.

This comes after many reports of fans ignoring mask mandates inside Highmark Stadium during Sunday's home opener.

Many fans know that Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley has been outspoken about vaccine mandates and rules put forth by the NFL and NFLPA in the past and now, Beasley and Bills long snapper Reid Ferguson are willing to buy tickets to away games for unvaccinated fans who will not be able to go to Bills home games because they do not want to get the vaccine.

Both Beasley and Ferguson announced their offers to buy tickets on Twitter.

As for home games, there will be no test-out option. Fans will need to present their vaccine card, Excelsior pass, clear digital vaccine card, or government digital vaccine card (outside New York State) and will be considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their final dose.

For KeyBank Center, this starts on September 25th with the Eric Church concert. For Highmark Stadium, it begins the following day (September 26th), when the Bills host The Washington Football Team.
