Updated Timetable On Border Crossing In Buffalo

The COVID-19 pandemic is nearing it's one year mark in the United States and Canada and the border remains closed between the two. What is the timetable for opening the crossing? It has been adjusted, again.

According to reports, the border closure has been extended for at least another month.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced yesterday the shutdown that was put in place last March will remain in effect through at least February 21st. The ban still allows Americans to travel to Canada by air, however they must quarantine for two weeks after arriving.

This is getting frustrating for some who either have family or property that they have not seen in nearly a year! The good news it that the vaccine is being distributed here in the United States. Although the roll out has been slow, it is happening here in New York State as well. I can't even remember the last time I was in Canada. Truthfully, it is one of my favorite places to visit.

The Buffalo Bills will be playing their next playoff game this Saturday in front of 6700 fans. There are saying that this is a great example of how to allow fans/patrons in to other business and events in 2021. While we wait, there are also petitions to allow bars and restaurants in Erie County to stay open later than the current guidelines to allow people to watch the game while they eat and drink.
