If there's one thing Buffalo is known for, it's the food — that's simply a way of life in our city. A big part of what makes it special is the pride that each area has in their cuisine, and how diverse the establishments and people who run them are.

That's why I'm excited for the Taste of Cheektowaga coming up this weekend! It'll be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cheektowaga Town Park on Harlem Road. The event is FREE to enter, which means it's a fun and affordable day out for your entire family.

Like any good Buffalo festival, the focus is on the food. You'll be able to sample foods from a ton of restaurants from the Cheektowaga area, and trust me when I tell you there are some great ones. For example you'll get to try Doino's Pizzeria Bar & Grill, who are famous for their three-cheese and steak pizza!

It's not JUST about the food though. While you're there you'll get to enjoy local craft vendors, a Kids Zone for the little ones you'll bring, DJ music and live music.

Of course, there will be plenty of wine and beer. How else are you going to wash down all that yummy food?

And mark your calendars for the next great event from WNY Food Festivals: Oktoberfest is Sept. 21 at Niawanda Town Park in Tonawanda featuring the Greman American Musicians!
