There is a new recall that has been posted that involves a vehicle that some in New York State might need to know about.

There seems to be a crazy amount of recalls this year. From fruit to cars to infant toys and chairs, every week we are getting more and more warnings about various products.

In some cases, the recalls are voluntary and in others, the manufacturer or the CDC will require that products under the recall be returned or tossed out. The latest recall involves a BMW vehicle.

According to a Tweet from ABC News:

BMW is recalling a small number of SUVs in the U.S. because the driver's air bag inflators can blow apart in a crash, hurling metal shrapnel and possibly injuring or killing people in the vehicles.

This is the latest vehicle recall. Last week, there was a reminder about the dangers surrounding a certain cantaloupe.

As we get closer to the New Year, it will be interesting to see what, if any, new laws will be put in place to ensure consumer safety. Are these recalls more frequent or are we just more aware because of social media and the 24 hour news cycle?
