The Village of Depew voters decided in favor of keeping the second-oldest village in WNY in tact last night.

1,165 voted to dissolve the village + 3,006 voted to keep it.

Upon the news being delivered, the crowd was so loud that the announcer couldn't even finish her sentence.

Village officials and departments were at risk of losing their positions if the vote decided to dissolve into Lancaster and Cheektowaga. The vote happened between noon and 9 PM last night and only a few people were turned away moments after doors closed.
