Every Thursday we spotlight some of our hometwon heroes with my web feature: Volunteer Fire Company of the Week. This week, we salute The Frontier Volunteer Fire Company.

Here is more information about the Frontier Volunteer Fire Company:

Founded in 1940, Frontier Volunteer Fire Company Incorporated serves several square miles in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, bordered by the City of Niagara Falls and the City of North Tonawanda. Currently, we operate two fire engines and one rescue squad. An average year for us is about 300 total calls for both Fire and Emergency Medical Service. In addition to about 40 active members, we have a special program for our Junior Firefighters, age 14-17.
