60 Degrees On The Way For Buffalo?
Has this been one of the most brutal winters on record here in Buffalo and Western New York? I would most definitely say "yes." I can't recall a winter which has been more snowy and bitterly cold than the last 6-8 weeks.
Friday saw more of that kind of weather, as a winter storm rolled through the region, dropping multiple inches of snow and even freezing rain. It's been a nightmare driving around this morning, but should improve greatly this afternoon.
There might be something to look forward to, however.
Mike Cejka of WIVB 4 Warn Weather says that it will be mostly quiet with snow and rain next week, with cold temperatures, but next Saturday will likely see a warm up from a system moving into the Great Lakes, bringing above-average temperatures.
There's a chance that Western New York could see a 60-degree reading next weekend. The bad news, is that looks like it will be a brief glimpse into what's ahead for spring.
It's not in the seven-day forecast, but I'm very much ready for 60-degree weather, even if it's just a taste of what's to come in a couple of weeks.
April is truly the month to look forward to for the warming weather, even though March is stereotypically a month people circle on the calendar for the warm weather and spring.
Here's to hoping we get rewarded with an awesome summer after putting up with this winter!
