The wait is over and these baby falcons are incredible!

The baby falcons have hatched and you can see them live on this amazing set of cameras that are high above the ground overlooking the campus at the University at Buffalo in Amherst!

The New York State DEC added this camera to keep an eye on and observe the majestic Peregrine falcons!

According to the post from the UB website, Peregrine falcons regularly nest in the tower of Mackay Heating Plant, on the east side of the UB South Campus. Classified as an endangered species in New York State, peregrine falcons were wiped out from the Eastern United States in the 1960s, mainly due to pesticide residues in their prey. Thanks to protection efforts like the one at UB, NY’s falcons are on the rebound.

The sun was shining bright this Mother's Day weekend and it was so fun to see the morning activities after the sunrise of this family of falcons! It won't be too long before the babies grow big enough and strong enough to fly away and hunt for themselves.

According to what I have read, a Peregrine falcon will likely be ready to leave the nest in just 35-40 days!
