The turkey season is well underway and many hunters are already having some success! The rain has been falling and the conditions are not ideal, but New York State's turkey season rolls on this month!

Will the grass and leaves starting to green up and grow and the woods are coming alive here in New York State! Keep an eye out for deer fawns, bear cubs and other wildlife!

But for turkey hunters, the pre-dawn hours are special and this time of the year has been on their minds through the long winter.

The annual spring turkey season runs from May 1st - 31st.

This past weekend, a friend of mine missed the turkey in the video below only to see it end up on the camera later in the day! It seems as though this wise gobbler is showing off and almost appears to be MOCKING my good friend!

If you are successful this season, remember to report the bird that you harvest. New York State makes it easy!
