Why Do People Love Living in Buffalo, New York?

When this time of year rolls around, you might ask yourself why you still live here.  But then you remember all the things you would miss if you left.

This weather will take a toll on you. It's miserable to walk anywhere outside because you either have to walk through snow up to your knees or it's a sheet of ice.  The temperature and wind chill are on the wrong side of zero, and you might be dreaming of going somewhere warm.

Nobody will blame you for wanting to get out of here.  But the weather is just one tiny part of Western New York.

We all dream about going somewhere warm, sitting on a beach, and just soaking up the sun.  But if you're thinking about actually packing up and leaving because the weather is cold here for a couple of months, take a second to remember what it is that you love so much about living here when it's not cold.

While there were some popular themes in your answers, there were certainly a few answers that stood on their own.  Things like fishing and nature in Western New York were mentioned.  One person even mentioned how great our tap water was!
