According to the National Weather Service, strong winds are expected in Western New York, and a wind advisory is in effect in the outer rim of Buffalo.
You can expect some showers and a few thunderstorms to make their way through Western New York today, with an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms. However, as detailed above by the National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo, damaging wind gusts are going to be the primary threat for Thursday.
Storms are expected to make their way through the detailed area from late this morning into early this evening.
The high winds are expected to subside by late afternoon.
