The wind storm has finally arrived in Western New York, and if you're planning to be on the roads today or tomorrow, the New York State Department of Transportation has some warnings for drivers.

WIVB reports "NYSDOT signal crews will work with local energy provides to restore power as soon as quickly and efficiently as possible."

NYSDOT reminds drivers to be aware as they approach traffic lights that are out, and employ right-of-way rules unless an officer is on the scene directing traffic. As well, they warn drivers of possible debris in the road or downed power lines, saying, "drivers should exercise caution and obey all traffic signs or barricades in place, regardless of whether a roadway looks clear, according to authorities."

Snow is expected in some areas today, which could create white-out driving conditions.
