Connecticut shooting

Since news broke of Friday's (December 14) tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., so many people -- at our studio, in Buffalo and across the country -- have been asking what they can do to help. And while nothing we can do will ever really be enough, we want to help Buffalonians show their support for our East Coast neighbors.

Authorities have released the names of the victims of Friday's mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in which Adam Lanza, 20, reportedly killed 27 people, as well as himself. Lanza's rampage began when he shot and killed his mother, Nancy, at her home before he drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School and killed six adults and 20 children before taking his own life.

Friday's tragedy in Connecticut goes beyond talk of guns and gun control.  It's sickness and evil.  It's beyond comprehension how any human being could plot to execute young children - babies.  We'll probably find out down the line what twisted logic this guy had to go through with such a wretched crime.

Friday was an emotionally draining day. My mother has been gone 16 year as of Friday and hearing what happened in CT has only made it all that much more difficult.

While details about Friday morning's school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut are still trickling in, it's clear that innocent lives were taken when a gunman stormed Sandy Hook Elementary School and began firing.
