The coach bids farewell and the cowboy rides away.  Long-time Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff says goodbye after being fired two days earlier, and George Strait gives his final concert in Buffalo -- on the same day! This is a way too emotional day for me.  Two class acts that I've admired for years, and it's hard to let go.

Coaching didn't make a difference in the Sabres first game with a new coach.  With Ron Rolston behind the Buffalo bench the Sabres made the same mistakes they've been making all season in a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Reason no. 1 why I don't ever want to leave Buffalo -- it truly is the city of good neighbors. Lindy Ruff was great for the Sabres organization, was great to the fans and was great for the city of Buffalo. Ron Rolston will take over as the Buffalo Sabres interim head coach for the rest of the season. Rolston is the coach of the Sabres farm team, the Rochester Americans, and has met the Sabres players already as of Wednesday night (February 20).

After 15 years as head coach, Lindy Ruff has been fired as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres.  The Sabres announced the move with a brief statement on their Twitter page.

I can't recall the fans ever more angry than after the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night at First Niagara Center.  I heard fans vowing never to waste their money on a Sabres game again.  Others complaining about the coach, some complaining about the players.

Ryan Miller was angry following the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday afternoon.  The Sabres had rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take the lead in the third period 3-2, but poor defensive play by his teammates allowed the Penguins to tie, then score the game winner with just 2:04 left to play.
