The holidays are all about tradition and spending time with the ones you love.  In Western New York, there are a bunch of things that we do every year.

If we haven't done them, it just doesn't feel like Christmas.  It's kind of like a bucket list or a checklist that we have to mark off.

Of course, we need snow and all the activities that come with it.  It often feels like a curse to get the snow that we get in Western New York, but there are tons of people who would love to get snow on Christmas.

But here, it's not all about the weather and how we deal with it.  There are places to visit, and things to do that feel even more special to do around the holidays.  It's the time you get to spend with your family and friends and the things that you get to do with them. It's about the traditions that have been passed down to us and the ones that we choose to pass on to our children.

I put this list together for a couple of reasons.  First, it was to bring up the happy memories that I had around the holidays while growing up.  I also did it for you to use as a bit of a checklist leading into this holiday season.  Are these traditions that you took part in while you were growing up?  What did I miss?  What other traditions do you have to do every year before you feel like it's actually Christmas?
