Do The Buffalo Bills Have A Budding Quarterback Controversy?
There is little doubt that the current Buffalo Bills' starting quarterback, Josh Allen, is going to go down as one of the greatest people to ever play the position. In just eight short years, JA17 has captured the hearts of Western New York and the Bills Mafia, not to mention the entire NFL.
The reigning NFL MVP is a once-in-a-lifetime talent that we're all extremely lucky to be able to say we see him week after week. With the 2025 NFL Regular Season underway, everyone around the league knows that New York State's only NFL team has one best QBs around.
However, after the Bills grabbed an NFL Week 2 victory over the New Jersey New York Jets, there is actually another Bills quarterback who ended the game as the top-rated QB that day.
Do The Buffalo Bills Have A Budding Quarterback Controversy?
We all saw it when it happened, the ever-present Buffalo hater, Michael Clemons of the New York Jets, hit Allen in the face through his facemask in the first quarter, breaking his nose and forcing him out of the game.
Once that happened, Mitchell Trubisky came into the game and took over the Bills' offense without missing a beat. During his few minutes in the game, Mitch had two passing attempts, completing one for 32 yards.
Now, that doesn't sound like a real big performance for the former first-round draft pick. But his top-notch play earned him a 99.8 QB Passer Rating. When you compare that to Josh Allen, who went 14 for 25, gaining 148 passing, he only earned a QB Passer Rating of 83.9.
With Mitch being the Bills' top-rated passer, do we have a budding controversy at QB this year?
Of course, we know the real answer to this question, but it's great to know that the team is in such capable hands.
