Amari Cooper Got Some Help From This Bills Teammate
We “get by with a little help from our friends”, and one of the newest members of the Buffalo Bills got by on Sunday with a little help from an accommodating teammate.
Bills Mafia was anxiously awaiting the debut of wide receiver Amari Cooper, who was acquired in a blockbuster trade less than a week before stepping onto the field of Highmark Stadium. Although he made fans a little nervous after dropping his first pass from QB Josh Allen, he came back to impress the crowd, his teammates, and coaches by finishing with four catches for 66 yards, including an epic reception for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter, leading to the Bills 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Cooper is getting rave reviews from critics and head coach Sean McDermott, who praised Cooper saying,
“"He made an impact just in four days, really four teachable, learnable days, and then to come out on day five here and execute like he did was impressive.”
Although it’s truly jaw-dropping to see what Cooper was able to accomplish with the little amount of time spent with his new crew, he still had a couple of moments where he was confused. Thankfully, an incredibly helpful ally stepped in to assist, which led to Cooper’s debut Bills touchdown— and that guy just happens to be a rookie.
Keon Coleman Helped Amari Cooper Score A Touchdown
When Josh Allen started yelling “Alert! Alert” after lining up for an offensive drive on 2nd and 10 in the 3rd quarter, replay video clearly shows Cooper confused by the play call, throwing up his arms and looking over to his left at fellow wide receiver Keon Coleman, as if to say, “Huh?”
Thankfully, Coleman came to his rescue, pointing to the path where Cooper was supposed to run, and ultimately leading to Cooper’s first touchdown as a member of the Buffalo Bills.
We’re sure Cooper will have the plays down in no time, but we’re positive that he (and us!) are glad that Coleman stepped up to literally show him the way.
