There aren't a whole lot of blockbuster movies being released these days, but the Aurora Theater is hoping to fill some seats with this new/old series.

According to WIVB, it's called The TIC (throwback, independent, and classic) Film Series and they'll be doing just that - showing films that are older movies (but classics) that you may have never seen on the big screen.  Or, as they like to say, "the way they’re meant to be seen."

“Younger audiences, older audiences- when you’re in that theater and you’re sitting in the dark and that moment of magic happens- there’s nothing else like it,” - actor James Arone (one of the people who came up with the TIC Film Series)

The series has already begun.  Its kicking off this weekend with two Steven Spielberg blockbusters- E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Jurassic Park.  Next weekend it will be a Gregory Peck weekend.  They will show To Kill A Mockingbird and Roman Holiday.

“We just had this opportunity in the film schedule since new releases are coming out very slowly right now.  We wanted to have some fun with the reopening- we’re 95 years old, so let’s show some movies that have been shown over the 95 years.” - Aurora Theatre owner Lynn Kinsella

Of course, safety measures will be in place.  Patrons will have to wear masks when they are not seated and eating in the theater and every other row will be blocked off to ensure social distancing.  They also encourage you to buy your tickets ahead of time.
