How is this one a thing?

It all started with toilet paper and then the shortages started getting added to the list one by one. It's been so weird to see some of the items that have been not available because of 'covid'. I mean, how many times have you gone to the store and they tell you there is STILL a supply chain issue because of the pandemic?

Right now, there are some serious shortages including baby formula. Other shortages include chlorine and helium.

HELIUM.

Apparently, there is a helium shortage around Western New York. Yesterday, I went to Wegmans looking for some balloons because my brother and sister-in-law were bringing home their brand new baby and they said that they haven't had helium in months and they don't plan on getting any helium any time soon.

The same thing happened when we went to TOPS....and the dollar tree. Both of the people that we spoke with in the stores said the same thing that the woman at Wegmans said--that there would be no helium in the near future.

You can't find helium around the Buffalo area for your birthday balloons? Where can I get helium around Buffalo? Who has helium balloons in Western New York?

Luckily, if you are looking for helium we found some at Party City over in Cheektowaga by the Walden Galleria Mall. So, if you are planning a party or need balloons, make sure that you plan a little early to get them.

They cost 5 bucks each in case you were wondering.

Can You Name That WYRK Baby?

We are getting ready for the Miranda Lambert concert at Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino on September 18th with none other than baby pictures!

For the last week, WYRK has been asking for your baby pictures -- but with a country theme! And for a good reason...because we want you to win tickets to see Miranda Lambert, with Western New York's own Claudia Hoyser and Taste of Country Riser Fuzzy and the Rustbelts.

We are taking your country-themed baby pictures, whether they are of you, your baby, your friend's baby -- whomever! Anyone qualifies -- so long as they are in country gear.

You would think that the WYRK on air staff would have at least one baby picture with a country twang; unfortunately this is the best we can do.
