Big Changes Coming For Your New York State License

Did you get your new driver's license yet? More people are getting these new driver's licenses that are making them feel safer.

There were changes done to new licenses in New York State. If you have gotten or applied for a new license, you can get the brand new one that New York State rolled out last year.

THE DMV in New York State is worried about fraud and counterfeit licenses. Here are some of the changes that you will see on your new ID:

• You can now see the chip on the card.
• There are some parts of the ID that are lifted up and you can FEEL.
• The birthdate is HUGE under your ID picture.
• There are a few laser engravings that you can see from different angles.

The new security features can be verified with the naked eye and by touch. Some of the text and images are embossed and can be felt. On the Enhanced Driver License and NDID, the embedded chip is now exposed. Both the clear windows within the document and the state seal have been redesigned using a process called multiple laser imaging", according to the DMV website.
