A lot of people were surprised to only see two Buffalo Bills on the Pro Bowl roster this year, but two more just got added.

Congratulations to James Cook and Connor McGovern who have been added to the Pro Bowl lineup this year.

They will join Josh Allen and Dion Dawkins as the only other Bills to make the first team.  That is assuming Josh Allen decides to join them this year.  In the past, he's chosen to do other things on the weekend of the Pro Bowl.

Initially Cook and McGovern were listed as alternates for the game but will now be invited to play following the withdrawal of Baltimore Ravens' running back Derek Henry and Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey.  Other alternates for the Bills include:

Damar Hamlin
Terrell Bernard
Reggie Gilliman
Ed Oliver
Spencer Brown
Dalton Kincaid

Over the last couple of years, the Pro Bowl has changed quite a bit.  There was a day when you really did get the best of the best and they gave you all their effort.  It was entertaining to watch.  But over the years, the players had all agreed that it wasn't worth it to get hurt at a game that didn't matter.  So the effort went way down.  It felt like no one wanted to even tackle anyone.

Now they've changed the format to a flag football game to allow the players the opportunity to stay safe and still make it entertaining to the fans.  The weekend will also include a huge amount of skills competitions that will allow the players to show off what they've got.

The weekend begins on Thursday night at 7pm on ESPN and streaming on NFL+.  Click here for more info on Pro Bowl weekend.
