The Bills Game Will Be Blacked Out on Local TV in Rochester
The Buffalo Bills will play the New England Patriots this Thursday night. It marks the first of two meetings between the two AFC East rivals this season and the same exact time of year (first week of December) that it was last year, when the two teams faced one another for the first time.
The Bills are 8-3, while the Patriots are 6-5.
Buffalo is all the way back as the 5th seed in the AFC playoff picture, because they do not lead their division. The Patriots are on the outside looking in as the 8th seed.
This is the first Thursday Night Football game for the Bills since 2020 and the first Thursday Night Football game for them on Amazon Prime.
In case you did not know, Thursday night games are now shows exclusively on Amazon Prime. Luckily, the game will be shown locally on channel 7 in Buffalo and channel 25 in Boston.
However, if you are outside the Buffalo TV market, you need to have an Amazon Prime account to watch this game.
That includes Rochester and even Batavia, who are technically not in the Buffalo TV market.
While many people do have Amazon Prime, I do know there are some who do not have it and will have to get an account if they want to watch the Bills outside of Buffalo.
This reminds me of when Thursday Night Football games were on The NFL Network back in 2006 and 2007, which caused some outrage since not everyone had The NFL Network.
One thing t consider is that if you watch the game via a stream on Amazon Prime, you will likely be a play or so behind for those watching on cable or an antenna.
For fans in Buffalo, there's nothing to worry about.
