Could This Be The Next Buffalo Bills Super Fan?
The Buffalo Bills are taking nominations for the 2024 Bills Fan Of The Year, and while there is still time to get your vote in, there is one Bills fan that has generated a massive following online over the last year.
You may be able to recognize this fan in his Japanese Samurai robe.
Some people even call him the Buffalo Samurai! And yes, he is actually from Japan.
Keita Nakagawa is one of the strongest contenders for the 2024 Bills Fan Of The Year. He traveled from Tokyo, Japan with his daughter Miki for her first Bills game.
This weekend’s preseason marked the second Bills game for Keita, but he traveled from Japan to Buffalo to fully experience the tailgate vibes and optimism of the Mafia.
And honestly, Nakagawa may be one of the most positive, optimistic, and die-hard Bills fans in the world.
That’s why Nakagawa could be a serious contender for Bills Superfan of the Year. He became a Bills fan in Japan back in the Jim Kelly era, as Keita calls it “The Golden Era.” That means he has been supporting the Buffalo Bills for several decades, all while living in Japan!
In fact, local brewers at the Ellicottville Brewing Company added the Buffalo Samurai to the new design for the Buffalo Fan Zone IPA can. It’s quite an honor to be on the beer can, considering that every famous Bills fan seems to be on the can – including Pinto Ron, Bills Elvis, and others.
While Keita and Miki were in town for the Bills preseason game, we had an opportunity to catch up with him at the tailgate party.
You can listen to that interview below.
Since the ‘90s, Nakagawa has been supporting the Bills from afar. Do you think he’s worthy of being the Buffalo Bills Superfan of the Year?
