A disappointing 4-3 loss for the Buffalo Sabres in Vancouver on Friday night in a game they dominated at times especially in the first period.  The Sabres allowed just four shots in the first period, but the Canucks scored on two of them because of defensive mistakes.

The game was tied at 3-3 entering the third period, but the Canucks got the go-ahead goal and eventual game winner and again it was poor defense that cost them.  The Sabres pulled the goaltender in the final two minutes looking to get the tying goal but couldn't find the back of the net although Rasmus Dahlin ripped a shot off the facemask of the goaltender for what looked like a sure goal.

Evan Rodrigues, Kyle Okposo and Sam Reinhart scored for Buffalo.  The Sabres finished with 39 shots on goal.  They're getting the shots but they don't have enough finishers on this team.

Linus Ullmark stopped 18 of the 22 shots the Canucks generated.

So the Sabres will have a good long time to think about not only this latest loss but what they've done since that 10-game winning streak.  They'll be off for 10 days before their next game a week from Tuesday at Columbus.
