This week’s Hometown Hero is not only a hero to us, but to his older brother too.  Originally from North Collins, our Hometown Hero is 21 year old Marine Corporal Brett Wilczynski.Brett’s nomination came from his incredibly proud brother Brandon.  It said:

Brett is not only a local hero, but my hero! I'm not sure how many people can say their younger sibling is their hero and someone they look "up" to, but this is the case for me and my brother Brett. He enlisted in the Marines at 18 years old after trying college for a semester. He went to boot camp a boy, and came back a grown up! With his work ethic and intelligence, he's worked his way up the ranks and now is a corporal, and a marksmanship instructor. He loves his job and is proud to serve our country in one of the most respected branches of military in the world! He is truly the definition of a hometown hero!

Thank you Brett for your dedication to our country and your community from everyone here at WYRK.  We are proud to call you this week’s Hometown Hero!

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button below. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.

Once again, thank you to Corporal Brett Wilczynski.  Our Hometown Hero of the week!
