The Broadway Market is a tradition in Buffalo, especially around Easter. The weeks leading up to the holidays are filled with busy vendors and enthusiastic shoppers preparing for the big day. What makes the Broadway Market so special? Is it just the time of year, the amazing things you can get there, the tradition, the people? I think it's a combination of everything! I love these types of market, it completely changes the shopping experience. It makes it more personal and you actually learn things while you shop too! That's what Dale and I set off to do when we were at the Broadway Market, we wanted to get a little more back story on the places that people are told they "must go to". I followed Dale with a camera and we got shipping! So what are the Broadway Market Musts?

The Ukrainian Eggs mean something special to me and when I heard this was thing in Buffalo I was so excited. For as long as I can remember my grandma collected eggs from all around the world. Whenever we went on vacation we would always look for an egg to bring back for her collection. One of the best stories is that two or three years apart my sister and I both traveled to China and somehow we brought back identical eggs for my grandma. Really...what are the chances of that actually happening?! She was tickled that we both knew her style and colors and that she clearly had one if we both picked out the same eggs out of hundreds that were available. I now have that egg collection and before I inherited it I was able to gift her and add an egg to her collection from The Broadway Market.

The two blue and white eggs with butterflies are the ones that my sister and I brought back from China, three years a part. The red one front and center is the egg I bought her at The Broadway Market last year. Between the Ukrainian Egg and the giant Butter Lamb she could not stop smiling. It was the perfect last Easter we all had together.

Now, your connection to eggs is probably not the same as mine but the tradition and craftsmanship that come with each one is totally worth buying one. This is definitely a MUST when you're at the market.
