Details On Khalil Shakir’s New Deal With The Buffalo Bills
Khalil Shakir is easily one of Josh Allen's most trusted receivers. Today, they ensured that he will continue to be for years to come.
Khalil Shakir just agreed to an extension to stay in Buffalo through the 2029 season.
Last offseason, Shakir was one of the only starting receivers that the Bills retained. They traded Stefon Diggs. They let Gabriel Davis walk in free agency. They still had their tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, but as far as receivers go, Khalil Shakir was one of the only ones left.
Those moves were looked at from many as the Bills taking a step back. It was almost immediately billed as a "rebuilding season." But it turned out to be the opposite. Josh Allen and the offense had one of the most productive years they've had in a long time and the team was able to continue deep into the playoffs.
The Bills noticed the success and decided to ink a deal with Josh's go-to receiver today.
Adam Schefter says the deal is worth up to $60.2 million and includes $32 million in guaranteed at signing. Spotrac has Shakir listed as being worth $19.4 million per season. They estimated that he would sign a 4-year contract worth around $77 million. If that's the case, the Bills got a bargain and locked up their guy through the 2029 season.
Last year, Shakir racked up just over 800 yards in 76 receptions. You would hope to see that number go up if he can stay healthy through the 2025 season.
The Bills still have some big names to sign or extend this offseason including Greg Rousseau and James Cook.
