Weather Shuts Down Over 250 Western New York Businesses
The second major snowstorm in Western New York this month has forced many local businesses to close for the day.

With nearly 20 inches of snow reported in some areas of Western New York, several travel bans and advisories, and the local schools being closed for Martin Luther King Jr day, many area businesses have shut their doors today.
Citing lack of safe driving conditions and lack of proper staffing many area businesses announced that they will be closed for the day. Places like Market in the Square, Aquarium of Niagara, and the SPCA serving Erie County will all be closed for the day.
You can get the whole list right HERE from our media partner WIVB Channel 4.
The weather looks like it won't be much better through the day. While the snow will start to lighten, the winds will pick up and we could see gusts of wind as much as 40 miles per hour this afternoon. That could cause white-out conditions and will keep travel around Western New York limited.
On top of travel bans in Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, and Lockport, the speed limit along the 90 has been reduced to 45 miles per hour.
Most of the travel bans and advisories will expire tonight and travel around Western New York is expected to return to normal on Tuesday. Of course, it could still be a slow go for the drive tomorrow morning due to the weather.
So far today many areas in Western New York have received over a foot of snow and those totals will continue through the day.
