Kyle Okposo scored a power play goal with 26 seconds left in overtime to give the Buffalo Sabres a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. It was the only time the Sabres led in the game.

For a while it looked like the Sabres would lose another game in which they worked hard but just couldn't get the puck to enter the net.  Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek had a lot to do with it after coming up with some incredible saves on shots that looked like sure goals.

After the Red Wings took a first period lead Sam Reinhart scored a power play goal to tie it.  The Wings went ahead again 2-1 with six minutes left in the third period, but Ryan O'Reilly responded with a great individual effort and scored after coming from behind the Detroit net.

Give the Sabres credit for killing off two Detroit power plays, one late in the third period and another in overtime including a stretch of nearly 40 seconds when O'Reilly was without a stick.

The Sabres now have won two of their last three games and four in a row on home ice.  They play Saturday night in Montreal.
