It seems the Sabres have to play a perfect game to win a game.  And for two periods Friday night at Key Bank Center they did play a perfect game.  The Sabres had a 1-0 lead after two periods, but the New Jersey Devils tied it in the third and won it in overtime 2-1 on a penalty shot.

It was nearly identical to the way they lost two nights before to Ottawa and it's the third straight game they've lost at home 2-1.  Scoring has been a major problem for the Sabres this season, especially at home.  In six games on home ice the Sabres have managed only seven goals.

Matt Moulson had the honor of scoring the lone Buffalo goal Friday night during a first period power play, but that was the only time the DJ Kool song "Let Me Clear My Throat" was able to be played on the arena sound system.

The Sabres aren't providing a lot of excitement to the fans at home and with Jack Eichel likely to be out of the lineup for another month the misery on home ice is likely to continue.

The Sabres and Devils have a rematch Saturday night in New Jersey.
