There's only so many ways you can describe a bad hockey team.  Despite all the talent, this year's Buffalo Sabres team is worse than the so-called tank teams where the idea was to finish with the worst record in the league.  At least those teams provided some entertainment.

After a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night the Sabres have scored just one goal in their last three games.  And they end the 6-game home stand with just one win.

The Sabres wasted another good effort by young goaltender Linus Ulmark who stopped 21 of 22 shots.  And they wasted an opportunity against a team that came in on a four-game losing streak and was missing a number of regular lineup players who were out because of injury.

And if you want to talk about another waste...how about that power play.  They had a 5 on 3 man advantage for over a minute against the worst team in the league defending the power play and just couldn't generate any good scoring chances.

It's the second time in a week they've been shut out at home and six of their shut out losses this season have come at KeyBank Center.  Good goin' guys....that's the way to entertain the fans.

After pathetic losses like the one against the Canadiens I also think of the fans who spend their good, hard-earned money on tickets, parking, concessions and souvenirs and get rewarded with essentially nothing.  The whole organization should be embarrassed.

Obviously the Sabres are just playing out the string and looking forward to summer.  But unfortunately for them they have a few more games to play.  They play the Rangers in New York on Saturday night.
