A Big Warm Up And Melt Down For Buffalo

The groundhog called for six more weeks of winter, but Mother Nature has other plans this week. Get ready for another change in the weather this month as Buffalo and Western New York will see temperatures climb to near 50 before Friday! But, in true Buffalo fashion, there will be a dip back in to the brutal cold before another warm up.

Before the warm up starts, it may be a good idea to check drains and prepare for some minor flooding in your area. Just like other years, there is always a threat of ice jam flooding along creeks and streams.

Who says it is too cold in Buffalo for running? Don't tell that to those who are lacing up their shoes for the Gril-Mato 5K.

February is here and while we wait for the spring to arrive and the snow to melt, there is a fun 5K race that is coming this weekend in Orchard Park. The Gril-Mato 5K race will take place Saturday February 19th at 9am. Unlike other races, there is a hot bowl of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich waiting at the finish line for runners.

February 19, 2022 at 9 am you can run a 5K course on the streets of Orchard Park. Waiting for you at the end of the 5K is a heart warming Girl-Mato supplied by The Byrd House.

Runner's Roost has added a second location on Transit Rd in East Amherst. They have also added a new 3D foot scanner that will make custom insoles for your shoes. If you have had any issues with pain while running or walking, this scanner will show exactly where your feet need extra support. I had my feet scanned and am looking forward to running with my new inserts as well!
