Famous Children’s Retail Store Closing Across New York State
A deal that may have saved Buy Buy Baby has reportedly fallen through and the end is near.
According to the story from NBC News:
Brand management firm Go Global Retail, which owns children’s apparel company Janie and Jack, was eager to buy the beloved Bed Bath & Beyond chain and keep it running, but ultimately couldn’t reach an agreement on valuation, the firm’s CEO Jeff Streader told CNBC.
Everyone has their favorite place to shop and, for some, that means shopping for baby clothes and gifts. It seems that after the COVID pandemic, there has been a baby boom! There is no doubt that you know someone who is pregnant or recently has had a child. We recently welcomed our fourth child and were sad to hear about Buy Buy Baby closing.
There MAY be some good news. Recent reports indicate that Buy Buy Baby could possibly survive the bankruptcy it had previously been a part of.
CNBC has reported an online competitor -- Babylist -- and an unnamed retail group have expressed interest in buying part or all of Buy Buy Baby's assets.
There have also been discussions to sell the retailer to the private-equity firm behind the children’s apparel brand Janie and Jack, The Wall Street Journal reported this week.
