The most painful coaster at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio will soon see its final day. The Mean Streak will take its last ride ever on September 16th of this year. Cedar Point will be developing something for FrontierTown where the Mean Streak stands now.

You can be a part of the final rides and rites by visiting on opening night of their HalloWeekends. According to their press release:

From 6 - 7 p.m., guests can take one final trip along the giant wooden structure. Then at 7:30, join in a special closing ceremony as we give 'last rites' to the ride and march in procession from FrontierTown to the Dead Rides Cemetery near the front of the park.
The coaster will lie in repose before burial so guests may see him for the last time."

If you haven't had a chance to check out the Mean Streak it is worth the headache you will be guaranteed to receive just for the memories! At one point the Mean Streak was the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. I can remember always wanting to ride the Mean Streak as a kid because of all the coasters at Cedar Point it was still one of tamer ones. Even with the headache I always rode it EVERY TIME we went to the park! Mean Streak, you will be missed!
