Check Out These Unique Names WNYers Use For Their Grandparents
Usually, when you get a nickname, you don't get to choose it. It usually comes from an event or the way you look, and for the most part, you have no say in what it is.
That is a bit different when you become a grandparent. You have a chance to come up with the name that your grandkids will call you, well at least for the most part.
My wife and I were on our daily walk when she started talking about what she would like to be called when she becomes a grandparent. Mind you that our son Avry is only 16 years old ad doesn't have a girlfriend, so I am assuming we won't have to cross that bridge for a long, long time.
But when that time does come, my wife said that she really wants to have a cool hip nickname. She doesn't want to be called Grandma, Grammy. She wants something that is cool-sounding. She said that she will still be a young 50ish old woman and wants a name that will keep her on the cool side of trendy.
So I asked social media, what do you get called by your grandparents or what do you call them? The names ranged from G-Pa, Nana, and Bama to Starzi Pani, O-Pa, and Pepere.
So if you have been thinking about what your grandkids will call you one day and you want something outside the box, check out these amazingly unique names people across Western New York used for their grandparents.
